Meet the Revolutioniser.
In 2025, Dr. Gabriel Joseph, a Cardiothoracic Surgical Trainee with five years of service in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS), identified critical inefficiencies in the emergency care referral pathway. With experience as a Volunteer Ambulance Officer in Australia, and observing first hand the strain on NHS 111 and 999 services in the UK, he noted that in 2024/25, an estimated 20.1 million 111 calls resulted in approximately 25% being unnecessarily escalated to A&E or ambulance services, incurring over £520 million in avoidable costs. These delays and misdirections, often stemming from non-clinical initial assessments, compromised patient outcomes and overburdened resources.
With no business background, only a surgeon’s precision and a vision to save lives and pounds, Dr. Joseph founded EmergiSync, an innovative emergency telemedicine platform. His vision was to integrate AI-powered triage, achieving 95% accuracy across thousands of validated cases, with immediate access to GMC-registered emergency physicians. This approach aimed to address the A&E waiting time catastrophe by intercepting inappropriate referrals, thereby streamlining care delivery, and reducing pressure on acute services.
In mid-2025, the ground-breaking start-up idea 'EmergiSync' emerged as a viable transformative solution. Although in its recruitment phase of development, it is poised to be released within the next 20-24 months to enhance patient care and deliver substantial NHS cost savings.
